Year to Career (Y2C): Exploring Short Term Education with Chabot-Las Positas Community College District

Project Overview

In 2019, leadership at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD) recognized the potential in highlighting their short term, high impact certificate programs in a stand alone guide – one that would introduce to career-seeking and career-advancing students not only CLPCCD’s many shorter-term programs, but also their extensive community resources and excellent hands-on experiences.

FFG was brought in as a thought partner and project manager to design and implement the Year to Career project, and the Year To Career Guide was born!

We worked closely with the content experts (faculty and administrators) at Chabot College and Las Positas College to explore and feature courses that are designed for a student who has only one year to study full time, and is looking for strong industry connections. This led to the creation and design of a brochure, website and explainer video, highlighting not only the programs, but also the many ways students can get support in the region - through career centers, adult schools, apprenticeships and their local community college.

Y2C partners include the OSHA Training Institute Education Center, the Tri-Valley Career Center, the Eden Area AJCC, and many more.
