Pathway Program Mapper at Foothill College

Project Overview

Central to guided pathways reform is the design of clear, educationally coherent pathways for students. Colleges are simplifying students’ choices with default program maps developed by faculty and advisors, depicting clear pathways to completion, further education, and employment in fields of importance to the region.

In 2022 FFG worked with Concentric Sky to build a home for Foothill College’s program pathway maps. Throughout 2021-22 Foothill College’s academic maps were created under the thoughtful and tireless leadership of Fatima Jinnah, Isaac Escoto, and Amy Leonard, in collaboration with Counseling, Instructional Faculty, and Articulation, and they all meet degree requirements. In the few instances where maps have not yet been created, the informational pages about the degrees are linked to the Foothill College Catalog. The Foothill Catalog and degree requirements can be reached through a link on the CAPs page.

FFG worked with the team at Concentric Sky to add the course and program information to its database and verify it against the Chancellor’s Office Curriculum Inventory System. FFG then authored the maps in PPM, working closely with the team at Foothill College to ensure the accuracy of each map. The site went live in September of 2022.

"Getting Foothill College to approve Program Pathways Mapper was a long process. Thanks to First Floor Group, publishing our maps for the benefit of current and potential students was not. First Floor Group worked quickly and efficiently. We are truly in their debt."
