FFG: First Note

We’ve landed on a name: FFG NOTES. It came out of conversations about how we work—capturing ideas as they take shape, sharing updates that reflect both process and progress, and leaving a record of what we’re learning along the way. This is our way of opening up the notebook and inviting you into the work. The three projects we’re highlighting in this first edition are ones that epitomize our values and our approach, and we hope you enjoy exploring them.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT #1

Dual Enrollment for Equitable Completion (DE4EC)

We have worked with RDP on a few projects over the years and every time we are blown away by their dedication to moving the needle in meaningful ways. Our latest project was no exception and we are excited to share these videos, reports and summaries from DE4EC. Dual Enrollment is the real deal - it can change outcomes for students, particularly those from underserved communities and we are proud to be a part of this work.

“I’ve been fortunate to partner with the First Floor Group for ten years. They have helped me transform research and evaluation findings that can be boring and at times overwhelming into digestible infographics, reports, and briefs. They ask the key questions that push us to clarify our message and shape our work, amplifying our participants' stories and moving our stakeholders to make change. Their blend of creativity and strategic thinking ensures that our work is not only accessible but also compelling and impactful. I’m truly grateful for their partnership!”

PROJECT SNAPSHOT

FFG partnered with RDP to create a visual brand for a series of reports, briefs and supporting resources. Dual Enrollment for Equitable Completion (DE4EC) is a multi-year collaborative initiative among the College Futures Foundation and Tipping Point Community, carried out with research support from RDP Consulting. DE4EC helps California community colleges and their high school partners build dual enrollment programs centered on strengthening equitable access and completion outcomes for students underrepresented in higher education, particularly African American/Black, Latina/o/x, and students experiencing economic disadvantage.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT #3

SEMI Foundation

Our newest partner, the SEMI Foundation is the nonprofit side of SEMI, the global organization that supports the semiconductor industry. They're all about building a strong, diverse, and skilled workforce for the industry. Through a variety of programs, the foundation works to promote career awareness, support STEM education, and create opportunities through workforce development and efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are working with them to create a series of focus groups and a video series and are looking forward to sharing more information soon!

In the meantime here is a video we produced of a recent SEMI event.
